Sweet jesus I am so thankful it is Thursday. Weekend time! But before I go stuff my face with sandwiches from Potbelly’s and have a Game of Thrones marathon with my love, I’ve got the Thankful Thursday link up:
(From Jessie @ Jessie Loves to Run)
I am thankful for deciding with my friends that Wednesday night is girl’s night and getting free food courtesy of Miss Bella:
(Chicken, onion, peppers with curry and spices)
I am thankful for getting pictures of this lil guy from my mom:
I am thankful for trying new recipes:
Low-carb Sweet Almond Buns courtesy of Karey @ Nutty About Health
SO FREAKING GOOD. I replaced butter with Greek yogurt and they were still fantastic. Sweet and fluffy, but still way more filling than any normal muffin.
Side note, I burned my arm getting them out of the oven:
It hurt like a biotch BUT I am very thankful that in all my years of cooking I have never burnt, or otherwise injured myself.
Hope everyone has a fantastic Friday tomorrow and weekend!

That’s so funny you mentioned Game of Thrones! My boyfriend just told me yesterday I should start watching it. He loves the show and books. I’m very hesistant though =\
My boyfriend looooved the books and got me into the show before we were dating & I totally fell in love with the show (and him haha). It’s really graphic (violence, nudity, etc) but SUCH an interesting story and some of the best characters I’ve seen in a show.
It’s an HBO show right? My boyfriend showed me True Blood and now I’m obsessed and it seems like the same. Tons of violence and nudity but so addicting. Maybe now though I’ll have to give the series a shot
yup it’s an HBO show. Give it a try! Let me know if you watch it.
ouuuch at the burn!
it’s felt like Friday ALL day to me today..I’m glad tomorrow FINALLY is
I’m just glad it didn’t turn into an ugly little blister! & haha yeah, thursday basically is friday for me so I know how you feel.
From an “old lady’s” point of view, ALWAYS be thankful for girl’s night. It’s so good for the soul.
hahaha aww, psh you aren’t old!! But thanks for the advice, I will definitely always be thankful for girl’s night!!
Those almond buns sound amazing! I always seem to burn myself- I get overly excited that whatever it is is ready haha
hahaha yeah I’m surprised I haven’t burned myself before! I’ve been cooking since I was little and I’m never super careful grabbing things out of the oven.
I LOVE Game of Thrones!! Can’t wait until it starts back up again in March! So happy that you tried my Low-Carb Sweet Almond Buns, yay!! Putting Greek yogurt in them was a great idea too!!
Sorry about the burn.
they’re DELICIOUS. No worries about the burn
I’m thinking I may need to make some more.. ate the last one tonight, eek!!
Muffins look great! Sorry about the burn, heal quickly Girly!
They turned out beautifully, so they were worth a little pain
Ow i hate burns. Hope youre okay
and those beauties you baked, woooow (:
thanks! And I definitely recommend trying them! sooo yummmyyy
Ouch that burn looks painful! Great idea having Wednesday girls night! I want to try that with my friends because we are always so busy but if we have a set day then it will be much easier
Yeah that’s totally like me & my friends. We’ve all got crazy schedules and tend to flake out or just not make plans unless we have a set day
Ouchie! I hate burns, but it must have been worth it because those muffins look awesome! Your dog is adorable, too! Hope you had a fun girls night and have a fabulous weekend, Jessie!
I’m just glad the burn didn’t blister up and turn into an ugly little bubble! (Is it bad that was the first thought I had after burning my arm? I’m so vain sometimes haha). But seriously so worth it, the muffing are fan-freakin-tastic. Hope you have a fantastic weekend too Abby
Girl nights are absolutely awesome! I need to schedule more with my girlfriends, it’s hard with everyone’s crazy work schedules… And those muffins, YUM
Minus the burned arm part, ouch…
It’s so hard! Everybody has different things going on. That’s why I’m super glad we are making a point to have a set day every week. Hopefully that habit will carry over after we are finished with school.
And the muffins! oh my god. They’re beautifully delicious. Totally worth the burn. So so so good.
I can’t believe I’m going to have to miss this season of Game of Thrones! Somehow have to avoid hearing anything about it until it comes out on DVD…
Wait why are you going to miss it?! that’s awful!! I’ll keep this blog spoiler free
My HBO source got cut off! I used to watch it at my friend’s place, but he got a girlfriend and now we aren’t “allowed” to hang out at his place. Good grief. I had a coworker bootleg the end of last season for me, I may have to see if he’s willing to do the same this!
oh nooooo that’s awful (and really dumb about the gf bit) !! Does your friend have HBOgo? You could always sweetly bribe him into giving you his password. I hope you get to watch it some way or another!
Oohhh, smart! I forgot about HBO go!
Ouch! I hope your arm feels better! I have burned my hand and fingers a few times, it absolutely sucks. The worst is when it turns into a blister!
thanks girl. I’m shocked I haven’t burnt myself yet, I’m totally not careful when it comes to the oven haha. Oh well, totally worth it for the yummy healthy treats!
OUCH! That burn looks awful. Hope it doesn’t still hurt. But those almond buns look terrific!
It’s getting better now
. Totally worth it!
those muffins look so good! I have to say though I have had my fair share of burns from cooking or eating mishaps (such as being too impatient and eating a bite of steaming hot food only to end up with a sore mouth haha).
Thanks! And oh I totally burn my mouth ALL the time, but I guess I didn’t count that
Ahh gnarly burn!! Those are baker battle wounds to be proud of, just not to get more of haa.
hahahah yes I love it! Baker battle wounds. Sounds way cooler than “I was impatient and the oven was hot” lol.
Woah those almond things look amaaaaazing! YUM!
And I have quite a few similar burn marks
oops! haha
I assure you they are definitely as amazing as they look. So yummy. In fact I bought more almond meal to make them tonight….because I finished the batch already…oops…
I had the exact same burn! I got it from baking a pie while in high school and the scar stuck around for awhile! Feel better. =)
No way! Crazy. Baking scars
. It’s already fading today so hopefully it won’t turn into a scar.
Those buns look amazing! I’m definitely going to check it out.
I burned myself on a hot bread tray years ago (I used to work in a kitchen) pretty much in the exact spot that you did. Pesky!
I didn’t know you worked in a kitchen! And that sucks. I feel like it’s easy to burn that part on the top rack when getting something from the bottom rack of the oven.
OUCH! That burn looks nasty. Sometimes it’s just a side effect of kitchen (thug) lyfe.
omg yes. From now on when people ask me what happened to my arm, I’m going to say that. Why are you a genius?
