I think I might stick with ‘Simple Sunday’ and do some sort of product review every Sunday (..well.. when I have new things I’m excited about? We’ll see if it sticks.) But before I go into a product review, quick weekend recap:
Friday night was my anniversary with my love:
I know anniversary technically means yearly occurrence or whatever, but I think it should apply to the “big dates” too (i.e. 6 months). Even though it’s only been a couple months, I still call it an anniversary, because I LOATHE the term “monthiversary”. I hate it. I’m angry at myself for typing it. So anniversary is the only word I can think of!
I’m going off on a tangent. Basically what I was trying to say is that it wasn’t a big date, but I still like to do a little something special, so I made a “fancy” dinner:
(Mini scallops, roasted asparagus and cauliflower, both sprinkled with Parmesan cheese)
We were going to a see a movie, but there weren’t any convenient times, so we ended up seeing a movie early Saturday. I saw Hitchcock again, because he hasn’t seen it and I loved it the first time. Still loved it the second time, Hitchcock and Alma are just the definition of sass.
After the movie I did some homework and watched cheesy movies with a girlfriend of mine. Good weekend!
This post is getting long, so I’ll jump ahead to the products.
These probably aren’t super thrilling to most, but I’ve been trying to find snacks that are low calorie and easy to pack into lunches, but aren’t filled with fake sh*t. So here’s my list of favorite 100 calorie or less on the go snacks:
Wholly Guacamole 100 Cal packs
First off, you can eat a LOT of guac for 100 calories. Second, I know I should be raving about some fancy guacamole at a nice mexican restaurant or something, but Wholly Guacamole is totally my favorite…. it’s so lame because it’s store bought, but I love it. Guilty pleasure. Except not really guilty because it’s good for you. Also, on the go containers are FANTASTIC.
Mott’s No-Sugar Added Applesauce
Only 50 calories! And a bunch of different flavors. Perfect for on the go when you want a little something sweet.
Mini Slim Jims
Ok so the ingredient list isn’t the best, but it’s not too bad. Plus it’s only 40 calories per stick and perfect for shoving in your purse last minute. Plus protein to hold you over till your next meal!
Ohhh, it tastes like childhood. Did anyone else eat a buttload of canned peaches as a kid? This totally brings me back, except minus all the sugar. Only 60 calories too.
Hope everyone’s having a relaxing and lovely Sunday so far. Oh and Birthday shout out to my good friend Miss Caley (She reads my blog, so hopefully she’ll read this far!)
